Late Han Hye-kyung, known as 'Fan Lady', featured in SBS 'Kkokkomu' special episode about her tragic life

The tragic life of late Han Hye-kyung, widely known as the "Fan Lady", will be featured in an upcoming episode of SBS 'Kkokkomu', scheduled to air on January 8 at 10:20 PM KST. Titled "Lost Name, Han Hye-kyung", the special episode will delve into the untold details of her life that touched millions.

Han Hye-kyung's story first captured public attention in 2004 when it was featured on SBS's "Sunkan Pokchak Sesange Ireon Iri" (Capturing the Moment: Such Things Exist in the World). That episode drew an impressive 31% viewership, making it a massive topic of conversation across South Korea. Unfortunately, she passed away in December 2018 at the age of 57, and the cause of her death has never been disclosed to the public.

On this upcoming episode of 'Kkokkomu', Park So-hyun, who served as the MC of "Such Things Exist in the World" at the time, will appear and share tearful behind-the-scenes stories about Han Hye-kyung. Viewers will also learn the reason behind her repeated illegal plastic surgeries, as well as the human side of Han Hye-kyung that was never revealed before.

According to the 'Kkokkomu' production team, Han Hye-kyung was born with a beautiful appearance, but her desire to become a charismatic singer led her to undergo repeated illegal plastic surgeries. Over time, she began experiencing hallucinations and delusions, which eventually led her to self-inject industrial silicone, paraffin oil, and soybean oil into her own face.

Additionally, Han Hye-kyung's older sister and brother-in-law will make an appearance on the show to share firsthand accounts of her relentless efforts to pursue her dream of becoming a singer. Park So-hyun revealed, "I found myself cheering for her as if it was my own story when I saw the 'Fan Lady' trying to reclaim her lost dream and challenge herself again."
